General
- NBS refers to Niseko Base Snow Sports – a Rental, Retail and Snowsports school outlet owned and operated by SkiJapan.com
- Purchase of any products with or at NBS enters an agreement and acceptance of NBS terms and conditions.
- No employee, servant or agent of NBS has the authority to vary these conditions.
- All NBS services & products are non-transferable and non-refundable.
- You agree that you have valid travel insurance which covers you for cancellations due to weather, loss or damage to equipment, accidents or injuries sustained whilst undertaking snowsports activities throughout the duration of your trip.
- It is the responsibility of the person paying to inform all other people in the booking group of all terms, conditions and general info.
- The person who pays shall be primarily liable for all fees for the entire group in the event of any cancellation.
- All NBS products and services are subject to availability.
- All NBS multi-day services are based on consecutive days.
- In the event of any discrepancy in terms and conditions between print and web content the website supersedes all print content.
Lesson
- In purchasing any NBS lessons products or packages, the customer, parent or guardian acknowledges that skiing or snowboarding in an alpine environment carries an inherent risk that NBS will not be held liable for any injuries or accidents occurring before, during or after any service has taken place. NBS is not liable for any equipment that is lost or damaged during a lesson, this includes any replacement costs or lost lesson time.
- Kid’s Club lessons are group lessons that will have other children of similar age and ability. We advertise and aim a “soft 4” number for the 5-7 age group, and a “soft 6” for the 8 –14 age group. Please note we cannot guarantee group sizes due to instructor unavailability, injury and/or illness.
a. Drop off for lessons is 9:15 – 9:30am. Pick up for lessons is 3:30pm. Any time lost on the front or end of a lesson due to late drop off or early pick up will not be made up at a later time or date or refunded. If parents/guardians are later than 15 minutes for pick up, NBS reserves the right to cancel any remaining days of lessons without credit or refund.
b. If your child is experiencing behavioral challenges that are affecting the lesson and or other in the group, we will contact you for early pick up. If the challenges persist over multiple days, NBS reserves the right to cancel any remaining days of lessons without credit or refund.
c. Due to the group nature of lessons, each group will be taught to the lowest level in the group. For specific requests and goals, we recommend booking a private lesson. NBS reserves the right to merge groups of differing age and ability level.
d. Our marketing and social media teams often take photos and videos of the participants in kids club and private lessons. This content will be used on our social media platforms, website and/or other promotional marketing material. By purchasing any products with us, you agree to the use of these images and release of them on the aforementioned platforms. If you do not consent to this statement or having you/your child’s photo taken and used by NBS or Ski Japan, it is the purchaser’s responsibility to advise us prior to the start of any lessons or guides.
e. Minimum age for children in group ski lessons is 5 years old and must be toilet trained. Minimum age for children in group snowboard lessons is 8 years old. Children under these ages can book a private ski/snowboard lesson only. NBS reserves the right to refuse the custom of any child who is not toilet trained. Proof of age may be requested for kids participating in NBS lessons.
f. NBS reserves the right to turn away children experiencing illness without reschedule, credit, transferal or refund.
g. Parents or guardians of any child booked into group lessons MUST have fully completed a registration form prior to the lesson start time. Failure to do so could result in parents or guardians not being advised in the event of an emergency.
h. In taking a full day lesson that includes lunch, you agree that you/your child will be exposed to potential allergens for which NBS will not be held liable. - The “Super Saver” packages do not allow for name, date or time changes and must be the same discipline i.e. ski or board for the duration.
- Cancellations by guests as a result of bad weather will not be rescheduled, transferred, refunded or credited.
- Only official resort staff can declare the mountain closed. NBS is not responsible for any lost lesson time due to partial mountain closures, holds or delays.
- Private lesson prices include up to 5 people per lesson.
- Lift tickets must be purchased prior to the start of the lesson. Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring their children have a valid lift ticket. Any part of any lesson missed as a result of not having a valid lift ticket is non-refundable nor transferable.
Rental
- Extensions can be made prior to the equipment being returned to receive the continuous daily rate. Any subsequent rentals will be charged as a new rental period.
- Change of equipment sizes, models and types is FREE with our deluxe package. For standard equipment the following applies:
- (a) A maximum of two exchanges of the same type of equipment (i.e. ski to ski).
- (b) One exchange between different types of equipment (i.e. ski to snowboard).
- Pre-booked rental equipment can be picked up after 4pm of the preceding day, earlier pick up will be charged an additional day of rental.
- Children’s pricing applies to children age 14yrs and younger at time of rental.
Loss and Damages
Normal wear and tear is expected, however excessive damage will be subject to the repair cost or 12 days rental fee, whichever is the lesser. Lost equipment will be charged at replacement value of 12 days rental of the lost item, or the subsequent rental days until it is returned to the store – whichever is the lesser amount.
Photography and Videography
Instructors may take photos and videos of guests during lessons for movement analysis or to capture memorable moments. These may also be shared with families, friends, or used for promotional purposes by our marketing and social media teams.
If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, or would like any images or videos deleted from an instructor’s personal device, please inform them directly.
Injury and Medical Refunds
If a guest is injured and can no longer participate in their booked services, they may receive a refund for the unused portion of their own rentals and lessons, starting from the date a valid medical certificate is presented. The medical certificate must be issued by a licensed medical professional (doctor or hospital) and must clearly state that the guest is unfit to participate. Refunds will not be provided for any other members of the booking party.
Early Bird Discount
Rentals: Receive a 10% discount on your rentals.
Snowsports: Book three (3) or more consecutive days of 6-hour (or longer) lessons or guiding and receive a 10% discount.
Not valid during peak dates: 20 December 2025 to 3 January 2026. Applies only to select products.
Spring Special
A 20% discount applies to select rentals and lessons.
Applicable only to select products.

Cancellation from time of booking till 15 days prior to travel= 0% fee
Cancellation 14-7 days = 50% fee
Cancellation with 7 days or less = 100% fee
Any bank fee or associated cost in providing cancellaton refunds are at the full cost and responsibility of the guest.
